About me
Hey there.
Thank you for visiting my website.
I am Maria, a German lawyer from Munich with a strong background in both law and legal innovation.
I have been an active driver of the legal technology scene in Germany since 2017. This includes co-founding the first legal tech student association in Germany, strategising and implementing several legal tech/design projects, being part of the women's talent programme of the Bavarian Ministry of Digital Affairs, and even pitching one of these projects at the Financial Times headquarters in London for the Innovative Lawyers Collaboration Award 2022. I have also spent time in many countries around the world for various reasons (including an internship in Kazakhstan or a summer school in law in Siberia), giving me a strong international cultural background.
After my Second State Exam in Law I worked with a specialist IT law firm, developing a new business and branding strategy for the firm, as well as doing legal advisory work. I also studied Design Thinking at the Hasso Plattner Institute, Potsdam.
I currently live in Nairobi, Kenya and work as Head of Legal and Business Development at 637 Capital. I worked in Nairobi in 2023 for the last part of my legal clerkship at an international law firm and decided to come back and stay as it is a wonderful place to live.
I am also a co-founder of Responsible Innovators (RI). RI is a global network connecting experts in the field to enable businesses in their responsible innovation journey. Our goal is to unite frameworks for responsible innovation and find practical ways to implement them in a business context.
